The novel coronavirus pandemic hasn’t stopped some of Tampa Bay’s biggest construction projects from making major progress.
Construction, designated an essential industry by Gov. Ron DeSantis, didn’t stop during the state-ordered shutdown to slow the virus’ spread (although some, including the Westshore Marina District, voluntarily halted work). From mixed-use developments like Midtown Tampa to a suburban office building that will be home to Centene Corp., these construction projects are taking shape.
Multifamily towers are still rising in downtown Tampa; a dual-flag hotel is well underway in the heart of the urban core. Kolter Urban’s luxury condos have broken ground on Bayshore Boulevard and the downtown St. Petersburg waterfront.
